Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
