Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 Goblets set, 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
