A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 (Saying): Follow that which is sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow no protecting friends beside Him. Little do ye recollect! 3 How many cities have We destroyed! Our wrath struck their people at night or during their midday siesta. 4 and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, "We were indeed wrongdoers!" 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 And those whose scales are light are the people who put themselves to ruin – the recompense of the injustice they used to do to Our signs. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10
