Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
