Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 its fruits are near. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
