The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
