We sent Noah to his people, and he said: "O people worship God; you have no other god but He; for I fear the retribution of the great Day may fall on you." 59 The chieftains of his people said: Lo! we see thee surely in plain error. 60 Said [Noah], "O my people! I am not in error. Indeed, I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 61 (sent) to convey to you the messages of my Lord and to advise you, for I know from Allah what you do not know. 62 Do you wonder that admonition should come to you from your Lord through a man from amongst yourselves that he may warn you, that you may avoid evil and that mercy may be shown to you?' 63 (But) they belied him, so We saved him and those who were with him in the Ark, and We drowned those who belied Our verses. Surely, they were a blind nation. 64
