Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 The living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
