The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
