Ask the People of the Book, if you do not know. 43 (We sent them) with Clear Signs and Books of dark prophecies; and We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought. 44 Can, then, they who devise evil schemes ever feel sure that God will not cause the earth to swallow them, or that suffering will not befall them without their perceiving whence [it came]? 45 Or that He may seize them while they move here and there, for they cannot escape? 46 Or that He may seize them whilst constantly ruining them? For indeed your Lord is Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. 47 Have they not observed the things God has created, casting their shadows right and left, prostrating themselves before God in all humility? 48 And to Allah doth obeisance all that is in the heavens and on earth, whether moving (living) creatures or the angels: for none are arrogant (before their Lord). 49 they fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded. ۩ 50
