The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 Arise and warn 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 This is naught else than speech of mortal man. 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 Blackening the skins. 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
