Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you 1 even till you visit the tombs. 2 You shall know. 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 you would see the fire of Hell. 6 And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 On that Day, you shall be questioned about the pleasures. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
