Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
