Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
