Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
