Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinns] used to utter against Allah that which was wrong and not right. 4 We had supposed that men and jinn would never utter a lie against God. 5 And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); 6 and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never raise anyone (as a Messenger)”; 7 ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ 8 We used to sit near by and try to listen to the heavens, but shooting flames now await those who try to do that. 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.' 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 The places of worship belong to God; so call not, along with God, upon anyone. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
