Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 hearing there no babble; 11 therein a running fountain, 12 and raised couches, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
