The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Quraish (Quraish) before Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

The event that terrifies the hearts! 1 What is the startling calamity? 2 Would that you knew what the Clatterer is! 3 A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths 4 And the mountains shall be as loosened wool. 5 And then, he whose weight [of good deeds] is heavy in the balance 6 shall inherit a pleasing life, 7 And for one whose scales prove light, 8 His refuge will be an abyss. 9 And what shall make thee know that which she is? 10 A fire hotly burning! 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
