In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
