So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 [Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me. 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
