Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 There are some human beings who purchase an enchanting diversion in order to lead people away from the way of Allah without having any knowledge, who hold the call to the Way of Allah to ridicule. A humiliating chastisement awaits them. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. 11
