And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
