And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
