Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
