Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
