Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 About the criminals, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
