The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The piercing star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
