A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 O mankind, follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow other administrators, abandoning this (the Holy Qur’an); very little do you understand. 3 And many a township did We destroy – so Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 And when Our Might fell upon them they only said: 'We have indeed been harmdoers' 5 Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the apostles) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the apostles; 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 and he whose scales are light -- they have lost their soul for wronging Our signs. 9 We established you in the land and provided you with a means of livelihood there: yet you are seldom thankful. 10
