The Column (Al-Suff)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify God. He is the Majestic and All-wise. 1 O YOU who have attained to faith! Why do you say one thing and do another? 2 Grievously odious is it in the sight of Allah that ye say that which ye do not. 3 God loves those who fight in His way in ranks, as though they were a building well-compacted. 4 And remember, Moses said to his people: "O my people! why do ye vex and insult me, though ye know that I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you?" Then when they went wrong, Allah let their hearts go wrong. For Allah guides not those who are rebellious transgressors. 5 And when Isa son of Marium said: O children of Israel! surely I am the apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic. 6 And who does more wrong than the one who invents a lie against Allah, while he is being invited to Islam? And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers) folk. 7 Fain would they extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths; and Allah is going to perfect His light, even though averse may be the infidels. 8 It is He Who has sent His Noble Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, in order that He may make it prevail over all other religions, even if the polytheists get annoyed. 9
