And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 whereas the invisible beings We had created, [long] before that, out of the fire of scorching winds. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 for an appointed time." 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 (To which God) said: "This way is right by Me. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 For whom the ordained place is surely Hell, 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
