The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 on a great day 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyun. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
