The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Thereafter you will certainly die 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
