O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers. 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
