۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 And Pharaoh sent heralds unto all cities, 53 [bidding them to call out his troops and to proclaim:] "Behold, these [children of Israel] are but a contemptible band; 54 And indeed, they are enraging us, 55 But we are a numerous host, ever on guard." 56 So We expelled them from gardens and fountains, 57 Treasures, and every kind of honourable place. 58 and We made the Children of Israel inheritors of these bounties. 59 So the Firaun’s people followed them at sunrise. 60 When the two forces drew within seeing distance of each other, the people of Moses said: "We shall certainly be overtaken." 61 Musa said: by no means; verily with me is my Lord; He shall guide me. 62 Then We bade Moses strike the sea with his staff. And it parted, and each part was like a huge mountain. 63 And We advanced thereto the pursuers. 64 We delivered Moses and all who were with him; 65 then We drowned the others. 66 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 67 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 68
