In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 When Our revelations are recited to them, they turn back on their heels out of pride as if they did not hear them or their ears had been sealed off. Warn them of the painful torment. 7 But for those who believe and do good works are Gardens of Bliss, 8 wherein they will live forever. It is the true promise of God. He is Majestic and All-wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
