The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Star when it plunges, 1 your companion is not in error nor has he gone astray. 2 nor does he speak out of his own desire. 3 It [the Quran] is nothing but revelation sent down to him. 4 taught him by one terrible in power, 5 by the great mighty one (Gabriel), 6 While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. 7 Then the Spectacle became closer, and came down in full view. 8 until he was two bows' length away, or nearer. 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 The heart did not lie [about] what it saw. 11 Will you then argue with him about what he saw? 12 And indeed he did see the Spectacle again. 13 by the lote-tree at the farthest boundary, 14 Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, 15 When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree, 16 his eye swerved not; nor swept astray. 17 Verily he saw one of the greater revelations of his Lord. 18 (Among the idols) have you considered allat and al'uzza, 19 And Manat, the third, the other? 20 What, have you males, and He females! 21 That is indeed an unfair division! 22 They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them. 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 But it is to God that the Hereafter and this world belong. 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
