Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
