Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
