Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 Fear Allah and obey me. 126 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 He has bestowed on you cattle, and sons, 133 And gardens and springs. 134 “Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.” 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 And we are not to be punished." 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 140
