Al-Baqarah 19 of 40
Believers, help yourselves (in your affairs) through patience and prayer; God is with those who have patience. 153 Do not say that those killed in the Way of Allah are dead, they are alive, although you are unaware. 154 And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.). 155 who, when calamity befalls them, say: "Verily, unto God do we belong and verily, unto Him we shall return." 156 Those are they on whom are blessings and mercy from their Lord, and those are the followers of the right course. 157 ۞ Surely the Safa and the Marwa are among the signs appointed by Allah; so whoever makes a pilgrimage to the House or pays a visit (to it), there is no blame on him if he goes round them both; and whoever does good spontaneously, then surely Allah is Grateful, Knowing. 158 Verily, those who conceal the clear proofs, evidences and the guidance, which We have sent down, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursers. 159 save such as repent and make amends, and show clearly -- towards them I shall turn; I turn, All-compassionate. 160 Those who reject Faith, and die rejecting,- on them is Allah's curse, and the curse of angels, and of all mankind; 161 They will abide therein: Their penalty will not be lightened, nor will respite be their (lot). 162 Our Lord is the only Lord. There is no God but He, the Beneficent and Merciful. 163

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
