So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 And we have come to you with the truth, and we are most surely truthful. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
