The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day in splendour 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
