Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles); 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 And guided them to the Straight Path. 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 121 They were two of Our believing servants. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 He asked his people: 'Do you not fear (Allah)? 124 Do you call upon Baal and forsake the Best of the Creators? 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 131 surely he was one of Our believing servants. 132 And Lut was most surely of the apostles. 133 Recall what time We delivered him and his household, all. 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 We then destroyed the others. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 And during the night; so do you not have sense? 138
