The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alim. Lam. Mim. 1 Allah, (there is) no god but He, the Everliving, the Self-subsisting by Whom all things subsist 2 He has sent down the Book to you with truth, which fulfils [the predictions] in the Scriptures that preceded it: He sent down the Torah and the Gospel 3 Before this, a guidance to mankind; and sent down the Judgement (Criterion to judge between right and wrong); indeed for those who disbelieved in the verses of Allah, is a severe punishment; and Allah is the Almighty, the Avenger (of the wrong). 4 Indeed nothing is hidden from Allah, neither in the earth nor in the heavens. 5 It is He who forms you in the womb as He will. There is no god but He, the All-mighty, the All-wise. 6 It is He who has sent down the Book to you. Some of its verses are clear and precise in meaning, they are the basis of the Book, while others are allegorical. Those with deviation in their hearts pursue the allegorical, so as to create dissension by seeking to explain it: but no one knows its meaning except God. Those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say, "We believe in it: it is all from our Lord." But only the wise take heed. 7 "Our Lord!" (they say), "Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure. 8 “Our Lord! Indeed You will gather all mankind for a Day about which there is no doubt"; indeed Allah’s promise does not change. 9
