The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
