AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 For all their deeds. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
