The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 125 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 126 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 127 "Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them? 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. 132 "He has aided you with cattle and children. 133 And gardens and watersprings. 134 "Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day." 135 They said, 'Alike it is to us, whether thou admonishest, or art not one of the admonishers; 136 That is nothing but a habit of the ancients, 137 We are not going to be damned." 138 Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them. Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 140
