1/2 Hizb 46
< random >
And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 AND CALL to mind Our servants Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, [all of them] endowed with inner strength and vision: 45 Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter. 46 And most surely they were with Us, of the elect, the best. 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end, 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, 57 and other torments of the like kind coupled together. 58 This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. 59 They will say nay! it is ye, for whom there is no welcome: it is ye who have brought it upon us. Evil shall be the resting-place. 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 What, did we take them for a laughing-stock? Or have our eyes swerved away from them?' 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
