Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
