The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
